Who's Ready For School?!?

When school is in session, are your nerves on edge? Do you get anxious over tests? Does your faith get tested? Everyone goes through the trials and challenges of school, whether you're in Junior High or Senior High. But this year, why don't you take a different approach:

1. STUDY. Who knew actually studying and reading the material assigned would help you out? The teachers don't give you stuff to do just to keep you busy. They assign homework so that what you've learned in class will be reinforced when you study at home. Homework is not the enemy. It is your friend. Buddy up with your crumpled up homework assignments in your backpack, and you'll be guaranteed a better looking report card.

2. SOCIALIZE. This sounds like a no-brainer, but do you realize the potential support system you could have to help you through school if you spent time with your friends? I'm not saying to JUST socialize, but I am saying that a healthy balance of human interaction while stressing over a midterm will ease the impending heart attack.

3. GET INVOLVED. Get involved in something extra-curricular. Many students find their passions while in high school. God might be trying to show you a hidden talent you never thought you had. Trying something new, not only will help you see hidden talents, but it will also help you strengthen the relationships you have with others.

4. PRAY. This is by far the most important. Your relationship with God is key to getting you through the school year. Without Him, your school's hallways could seem very dark. But praying for guidance and for strength and wisdom in situations that arise will put you on top, and it will also allow you to share your testimony with others.

5. DON'T FORGET YOUR CHURCH. Touching base with people that really care about you is crucial to your success. No one was ever meant to live the Christian life alone. In my experience, the more I grow, the harder life becomes. You need to be plugged in with a church that will share in the same struggles you have and, ultimately, will lift you up. Having someone there for you is good, but being there for someone else is just as important.

Just remember one thing: God loves you. You are His and He is yours. God will be there every step of the way as you venture through the hallways of your local high school. But here's the key: let God move you. Let Him guide your steps and direct your path. Is God on your side or are you on God's side? And remember this: Team X Factor is there for you!

Peace,
